More with the All that Glitters Swirlydoos Kit

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! It's time again to share more projects using the December Kit, All That Glitters. Even though Christmas has passed, those Holiday photos still need to be scrapped! So, I have one Christmas layout to share and a winter theme.

You gotta love all the pretty pinks that came in the kit. It was fun scrapping Christmas themes with the non traditional colors of red and green. I used the Snowflake paste to add some texture to the background. I didn't want the paste white because the background paper is light. So I added quite a bit of pigment powder to make it pink. Both the Snowflake Paste and Pigment Powder are from the Medium add-on. The Shabby Snow Angels are from my Esty Shop, LittleScrapShop. I'm currently taking a little break but will reopen soon!

Here is my snowy winter layout! I first used the snowflake paste with a snowflake stencil. When that was dry I used modeling paste to add another texture using a Tim Holtz mask. Once I had my page all done I went back with some watered down gesso and did some splattering. Using Heavy Gesso I painted a thick coat on the flowers, Teal Butterflies (from LittleScrapShop) and spray for that snowy look! That's always fun!

December Projects for Blue Fern Studios

Hello everyone! I'm sharing today my final projects as a BFS design team member. It's been an amazing and fun year!  I'm so honored to have had the opportunity to design for such a wonderful company!

I made this layout using the Autumn Anthology collection.  I started with the Newsworthy paper as my background and layered then Penmanship on top.  I painted the Large Roman Clock, Damask Panel and Spring branch chipboard pieces with gesso. Then lightly misted with the Leaf mist. The Butterflies and Stick Pin are from LittleScrapShop.

For this layout I used the Frolic collection. Such pretty soft colors!  I did some layering with the Secretary paper. Then used some pieces of the Calling Cards and Dans de Jardin. Again, I painted the Floral Lattice Bits, Timeless Floral Corner, and Petite Windows with gesso. They sprayed using the leaf and Cotton Candy Mist.

So, I've used up all of the Vintage Christmas Papers that were sent to me! I decided to make a quick card using a scrap piece of the Wonderland paper.  This is my take on the sketch using the Gingerbread House Chipboard. I used a thick uneven coat of Heavy Gesso and sprinkled colored glitter glass while still wet. You can find the Glitter Glass at my Etsy shop that I hand tint myself!

Thanks for stopping by during this busy holiday season!

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!
I had the best time scrapping with this kit!!! I love using pink as a winter/Christmas color. So shabbylious!

I just had to scrap my Delilah using the pink and gray papers! They remind me so much of her. So sweet and pretty! :)  She just had her 7th birthday! I tell ya, where does the time go!??!
I did a bunch of layering and distressing. And a bit of masking and misting. I just love the new Vintage Winter Angels from my Little Scrap Shop. They're are my newest editions and worked beautifully for my page. I used some pink flowers from my stash with the white flowers that came in the Flower Add-on.

For my second page I went more with the bright pink and light pink papers. I did some masking using the stencil and the Snowflake Paste from the Medium Add-on. It was the first time I used the paste. I really like the effect! I added some of the PearlEx in Pink Gold (also in the medium add-on) to the Snowflake Paste to give it a tinge of pink. The Snow Kissed Butterflies are from my shop. They're the perfect pink for these papers!

This is my take on the December sketch. I did some masking with the Snowflake paste and some fun drops with watered down gesso. The Icicle Butterflies and Winter Fairies are also from my Etsy shop. They're the perfect little add in to give the finishing touch.

Here is the December Sketch. Please join our Sketch Challenge, anyone can play!

Blue Fern Studios December Sketch Challenge

It's hard to believe this is our last sketch challenge of 2015!  Our sketch designer, Michele Singh, has once again given us a beautiful sketch to work with.  Doesn't it just make you happy?

One lucky winner, selected by a random draw, will receive a prize package
of Blue Fern Studios chipboard!

In addition, we will also select 3 (or more) layouts to feature.

We have just a few simple rules to follow if you would like to participate in our sketch challenge:

1.) Feel free to interpret the sketch as you please by means of taking it as-is or
flipping/turning/mirroring it to suit your needs, but please make sure your layout resembles the sketch.

2). Please note that you can do whatever type of project you please - a layout, card,
canvas, altered item- whatever suits your mood and style!
We would love to see the different ways our sketch can be used.

3.) You must use at least one piece of Blue Fern Studios chipboard OR use Blue Fern Studios paper on your project. Please note that you do not need to use the pieces featured in the sketch
- use whatever suits your fancy! You can find the store nearest you HERE.
 {Do not use any other brand of chipboard on your project, please!}

4.) Upload your project using the Inlinkz tool on the BFS BLOG by midnight EST on December 31, 2015
