Last projects of the year!

Hello everyone! Are you all set for Christmas? I am for sure and wanted to share my last Christmas projects with the Joyeux Noel Kit.
This is one of the many pictures I took of my kids last Christmas. I loved the colors I used on my tag at reveal. So, I did the same colors and techniques but on a scrapbook page.
Here is a quick card I made under 20 minutes using my scraps.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!! I love everything about Christmas! Swirlydoos only themed kit makes it easy to scrap Christmas photos and make cards.
For my first project I knew I wanted to go with a softer shabby chic style.  I did some machine stitching and light distressing. The gold poinsettia is from my supplies. I've had it for years and was happy that I could finally use  it!

For my second project I made on over sized tag. I pulled the colors from the vintage photo and added lots of gesso for a frosted look.

December Sketch by our designer Begga. The sketch challenge is opened to all, so come and join us!

A layout with the Autumn Rose Kit

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this week!?!?! I have to say this year went by fast! I want to wish all my scrappy friends a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd like to share my last project with the Swirlydoos November kit, Autumn Rose. This kit was so lovely with all the lush colors and romantic feel. I love to collect vintage images and wanted to use this one wit the kit, romantic and vintage! I heavily distressed two layers of pattern paper for that worn aged look. Then misted and stamped randomly. Once that was all dry I added some molding paste using a Prima mask. From there I just started adding embellishments. I've designed the butterflies and you kind find them HERE.

My layout was based of the November sketch over at Once Upon a Sketch. I'm honored to say my Etsy Shop is sponsoring a prize to a lucky winner.

 Thanks for taking the time!

I just loved this kit! It has beautiful rich colors. Krissy has an eye for the Victorian elegance feel. She has match up the perfect embellishments to make gorgeous pages or projects!

For this page I went with the lighter shades. Using the green burlap trim, that came in the main kit, I made the rolled roses. The trim has wire it in so it was easy to roll and keep shape. I used a Prima Butterfly mask and molding paste for the background. I love to  heavy distress my edges with multiple layers. This page has 4 layers! I made the banner out of scraps and just glued it to the top.

I just want to note that this page looks 100% better in person. It was really hard to photograph the background I created with molding paste and mist. Then the diecut paper has, I guess, a lacquer. So the shine didn't come out right. And no sun makes for a ugly photo! Sorry!

This is my take on the monthly sketch. I love to fill up my pages. So I did multiple layers of distressing and machine stitching. I also used some molding paste and a Prima mask for the background. I digitally created the butterflies to match the kit. You can find them at my Etsy shop along with the Trumpet Stick Pin.

Here is the lovely sketch created by our sketch artist Beggahuna.

A mini using the Swirlydoos Sweetest Thing Kit

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you all have a safe and exciting night. We plan on taking the kids Trick or Treating. Only the two younger ones are going to dress-up. Delilah as Little Red Riding Hood and Elijah as a Ninja. I tried to convince the boy to be the wolf, but  he declined...lol!

Today I'm sharing a mini I made using the Swirlydoos October Kit, Sweetest Thing. I love this kit! It mostly consist of BoBunny The Avenues. Such pretty paper!

Here is the front cover. The album measures about 5 x5 and is made out of chipboard.
Here are the first two pages. I cut out the door from one of the papers. I  folded the ends and glued them down so they can be opened.
Here are the 3rd and 4th page. I made a fold down page on the left.
 See, it folds open!
Here are the last two pages.  I added a little Maya Road envelope that holds tags. And on the left I made a pocket to hold the large journaling tag,
 The back
Here is a side view of the spine. I punched two holes and laced in some seam binding. I put the BoBunny sparkly brads in the holes to give the finishing touch.
This photo is just to show the thickness of the mini with all the yummy embellies!

Hope you like my mini! Thanks for taking a peek!

More layouts with Swirlydoos Sept. Kit

Hello friends! Just a quick post today to share two layouts I made using the Swirlydoos September Kit, Gilted Pleasure. This kit was just amazing and so easy to work with.
I was inspired by this lovely vintage image to go with the soft blue, yellow and cream in the kit.

I love polka dots but in small quantities! I had to make sure I used the brown and cream polka dot paper. So, I did some paper tearing and layering with the polka dots just barley peeking out.
The butterflies are my Carmel Macchiato butterflies that you can find at my Etsy Shop.

Thanks for taking the time!

Swirlydoos September Reveal and Blog Hop

Welcome to Swirlydoos' September Kit Reveal Blog Hop Block Party!!

The September Kit is just beautiful! The colors are stunning and all the embellishments are divine. This kit had a vintage heritage feel to it. While I don't have many old photos I opted to use vintage digital images. This one here I purchased from Ireland Rose on Etsy. She has the most amazing images and she's super sweet! I was inspired by the photo to go Renaissance. So, I did a lot of layering and distressing for that medieval touch.
Again, I used a digital image. This time from DivineDigital on Etsy. The blues in the papers remind me of watercolor blue. With the die cut paper I just trimmed a tiny bit off the edges and distress. Then I traced the pattern on brown cardstock, cut out and layered them.
This is a page that I created using the monthly sketch. I misted and painted the doily with the Silks Paint that came in the kit. With the piece that I cut off from the doily I tucked underneath the left side for more dimension. I also painted the little prima flowers that came in the flower add-on.You can find the butterflies from all three pages at my Etsy Shop.
 Here is the monthly sketch

Swirlydos 2nd Reveal, Passion Berry Kit

Hello everyone! Today I'd like to share two more projects using the gorgeous Passion Berry Kit.

First up is a card. I'm not much of a cardmaker. I find it hard to work on such a little space. But, Paulien gives us step by step card tutorials and I get inspired. To see these tutorial please visit the It's All About Cards Thread.  So, here it is.....sweet and simple!

Next up is a book box I altered. I LOVE these paper machete faux books! I have like 10 of them in different sizes, sitting waiting to be played with! I just painted it with gesso, sprayed with glimmer mist and prettied it up with the kits papers and embellishments. Don't you just love the fence...super cute!

Hope I've inspired you!!!
